LOST!! Who am I? What Should I DO!??!???

I stumbled across this board in a desprate attempt to find what I really like to do. What I mean is this:

I'm fifteen currently, with a love for writing. But I'm not sure it's writing I love, but perhaps something else. What spurrs my urge to write is music. With a single song, I can picture an entire scene come to life in my mind, and immediately become so wrapped up in one of it's charaters that it soon fills and rounds up into a story. Most of this revolves around music, even if I just hum a melody that I made up on the spot, putting emotions into the music. I seem to enjoy this, making little stories around a certain song.
Is this a doorway to writing as some tell me? Or perhaps also something else?

I also like thinking up soundtracks for a book, and wondering how it would be like making things into movies, and I also am curious about graphics and special effects, which is why I managed to find this site.

So...anyone have any ideas? Help!

I'm 16 and I'm effected by music in a similar way.

When I listen to a song I find myself creating the ideal scene to accompany the music. I also often end up getting entire ideas for film scripts and stories from these scenes.

If you think that maybe you would be able to write a good script you might as well give it a go.

Write a short film that you would plausibly be able to make. Get some of your friends involved, borrow a camcorder and just have some fun making it.

If you think that you could see yourself making more films, do it. If not, at least you'll have a film that you and your friends can enjoy.

You don't want to end up regretting that you never gave film making a shot.

Well firstly seeing as you're 15, you still have some quality time to work out what you direction in life is going to be. This is great - it means you can TRY filmmaking out and see if its your thang. Just grab ANY old camera (probably a friend will have some daggy old thing) and see what happens - you may hate it, you may love it.

Lots of people get fantastic effect by starting with the music in mind when creating a scene, its really great when the movement of a scene works in with the rythm of the score, or when the music starts to say things that the visuals aren't conveying,...could go on 4 ever. It's always really disappointing when there's just some random (usually popular) music dumped on top of an image 4 no working reason.

If you are into music, and can write stories from music, can you write music from seeing the story / film?

If so, why not offer to do the score for other peoples films as well?

It would save YOU the hassle of trying to make a film, and it would save the other person/people hassle with trying to get scores written / copyright sorted.

Hey, even I'd agree to that!
(I'd be the one with a film...)
